It would appear I am writing these a day behind… Oh well…
For our last full day in San Diego, we returned to the San Diego Zoo. We had only spent just over an hour there on the first day. This time around, we took the guided bus tour. The tour covers about 75% of the zoo in 35-40 minutes. As usual, quite a few of the animals were “hiding” when we went by so we did not see all of them. But the commentary was very good and well worth the trip. We also found out that there was an express bus following the same route as the tour bus that one could take to get from one section of the zoo to another thereby saving a lot of walking.
There is a nice restaurant in the zoo itself, part of the Treehouse, called “Albert’s”. We ate there for lunch. The food was very good and plentiful as I was not able to eat all of mine.
An unexpected benefit of the day was that the GPS route that was given to us to return to the hotel took us by the Naval Medical Centre. My wife has been wanting to see it as it was build shortly after she left. It replaced the one where she worked.
Good night
