Assembly required

A little while ago, we (really I just tagged along with my wife) went out and bought some bar stools to go around the island counter in the family room. As he was writing up the bill of sale, the salesman asked if we wanted them to assemble the bar stools. I had looked at the stools when we decided to buy them and I did not think there was much to assemble so I said “No, I will assemble them.”

Well today the stools were delivered. We bought 4 of them, and they came in two small boxes. It took me over an hour to assemble the first one! I did not think that there could be so many small pieces to a bar stool. It did get progressively easier to put them together and I am pretty sure that the last couple only took me around 15 minutes each. If we do this again I think I will tell them to do the assembly.

Today was obviously the day to put things together as I warmed up for the bar stool assembly by assembling our new barbecue. The barbecue did not require tools to put it together; however my fingers are now really sore from tightening the wing nuts.

I guess I better go to bed soon as I have to get up earlier than usual for a Sunday as we are going to pick up my son at the airport in the morning before church.

Good night!

About cthibodeau

I am a baby-boomer who is now in his second career after spending 10 years in the military. I now work in the computer field, which also happens to be one of my hobbies. I also like to sing, play the guitar to accompany my singing, and play the piano when I practice (which is pretty much never these days)
